The Beginnings of Palomino RV

The company was first founded in 1968. Vern Landey, a tent trailer distributor, saw many ways that RVs could be improved. Landey focused on updating three key areas of the business, including making lightweight models to improve the towing process, improving floor plans to optimize interior space, and keeping the cost of RVs affordable for families.

The first Palomino RVs were made at a production facility in Minnesota, but demand for the product quickly outgrew the location's capabilities. The company upgraded to a bigger facility in 1972. However, the new location was sadly destroyed by a massive fire just twenty years later. Still, Palomino bounced back soon after, unveiling a 75,000-square-foot production facility in 1998.

Palomino RVs Today

In 2002, Palomino was purchased by Forest River. The company was then incorporated into one of the largest RV manufacturers in North America, which helped skyrocket production and sales.

Today, there are over 300 RV dealerships that sell Palomino campers.
